Interesting Stuff.

My Saturday has been really good.
I got a massage.
I opened all my windows and let a 20 degree breeze come through.
I read all 3 newspapers.
I ran 5k and felt little pain. It was so warm I took off my shirt halfway through.
I did a quick weight workout.
I listened to 2 hours of Dave Ramsey on the internet. - He has some interesting ideas and I can see how they would be helpful to those who are in debt up to thier eyeballs. It basically propoeses that all debt is bad, especially credit card and car debt. Mortgage debt is only moderately better but only if it acounts for 1/4 of your income. He suggests you pay of the mortgage as fast as you can after all other debt is paid off. He also rails against new cars, which I have learned my lesson on, never again.
I did a bit of laundry.
I filled out forms to get re-imbursed for my massage and a perscription.
I am now reading and having a glass of red, pinotage if you care.
My New Favorite Song

Affirmation, Savage Garden

I believe the sun should never set upon an argument

I believe we place our happiness in other people's hands
I believe that junk food tastes so good because it's bad for you
I believe your parents did the best job they knew how to do
I believe that beauty magazines promote low self esteem
I believe I'm loved when I'm completely by myself alone

I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned

I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

I believe you can't control or choose your sexuality

I believe that trust is more important than monogamy
I believe your most attractive features are your heart and soul
I believe that family is worth more than money or gold
I believe the struggle for financial freedom is unfair
I believe the only ones who disagree are millionaires

I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned

I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

I believe forgiveness is the key to your unhappiness

I believe that wedded bliss negates the need to be undressed
I believe that God does not endorse TV evangelists
I believe in love surviving death into eternity

I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned

I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

Sleep

I decided on Monday that I was getting up far too early. I was getting up at 5:20 AM
Now here's the part that will shock you. I don't really need to start work until 8AM. It takes me almost an hour to get to work.
I was wasting a boatload of time when I could have been sleeping, so now I prep a lot more at night so I can sleep more in the morning.
As of today I am now getting up at 5:50 AM. I figure by Monday I'll be getting up at 6AM.
I think this little entry confirms I am nuts.

Messy questions

I read an interesting article in the paper this morning regarding US policy on science.
Basically they like science.
IF
It does not dispute the existence of a higher power.
Does not support pre-marital sex.
Does not support birth control, because that would encourage sex.
Does not support abortion.
Does not support the idea of evolution.
Does not prove that the FDA is not doing good science, letting new drugs into the market.
If it can keep jobs in the USA.
If it can find a way to prove that burning all those fossil fuels is good for the environment.
If it can find a way to show that 1000 plant & animal species is far better than 1 million species.
If it can prove all of that Military spending helps more than it kills.
If it can find a way to create more right wingers.
If it can prove that the USA is the center of the universe, or at least the reason the earth continues to spin.
They would also like science to distract the American people from the fact that they are in debt up to their eye balls and that they should continue to keep on spending.
Oh yes, one more thing.. Science needs to find a way to keep voter turnout down.

Ask not what your country can do to help the cause of Science, ask what Science can do for your country.
